Robinson's stations give boost to area schools
February 16, 2001
Thanks to the efforts of employees of Robinson's Mobil Mart outlets in our circulation area, several school programs recently received a financial boost in the form of $500 grants.

Through the Exxon Mobil Education Alliance program, Robinson's Mobil Mart helped students from East Corinth to Brownville.

Lisa Pinkham of Robinson's in East Corinth reported that Triangle Service of Guilford and Robinson's Mobil in Sangerville jointly made a donation to the ski program serving students who attend Piscataquis Community High School in Guilford.

Robinson's Mobil in Monson made a donation recently to the Monson Elementary School to assist with its new playground project.

Robinson's Mobil of Corinna made a donation to Nokomis High School in Newport to help supplement its student field trip fund.

Pupils at Penquis Middle School in Milo also benefited from an Exxon Mobil grant when Robinson's Fuel Mart of Brownville made a contribution to its student field trip fund.

Finally, Robinson's Mobil Mart of Corinth made a contribution to Central Middle School in Corinth to enable that school to expand its programs for student recognition, Aspiration Speakers, honors program, recognition assemblies and merit celebrations.

And while these one-time grants certainly are making a difference in the lives of these students already, the public can participate and make the donations even more significant.

Pinkham told us that all outlets will be adding to those grants grants by donating two cents of each gallon of gasoline purchased on Tuesdays during February and March.

An additional 10 cents will be donated for each Tuesday Speed Pass Transaction, she added.

So, if you need gas on a Tuesday, and you're near a Robinson's, and you know youngsters in these schools whose programs would benefit from more contributions from this grant program, the company encourage you to stop by, fill up, and help them help the kids.
