About A.E. Robinson Oil Company
A.E. Robinson Oil Company Inc was started in 1950 by Alfred E. Robinson, with only one delivery and
one service truck. In 1970, James "Jim" Robinson, Sr. purchased the company from his father. Jim and his
two brothers began to run the company together, expanding with the changing times, now reaching more
customers than ever before. But growth has not impeded the underlying theme of family bonds within the
company. Jim's children, grandchildren, and nephews all work together in keeping the business thriving.
Harsh Maine winters, and the implications thereof, provided a loyal customer base in need of our
provided services. Such as sales and delivery of heating oil, as well as sales and servicing of heating
equipment. In the 1980's, to keep business steady throughout the warmer months, A.E. Robinson began
purchasing service stations which over time evolved into gas stations. Which then began to include
convenience stores and delis.
Over the years A.E. Robinson Oil Company has grown into a total of ten service stations. In December
of 1993, we acquired an oil office located in Dexter from RC Whitney. The acquisition of this location
enabled us to offer prompter quality service to our customers in the Penobscot county area. In 2004
we had outgrown the South Street office, and so we moved to our current West Main Street location in
Dover-Foxcroft, Maine. This facility houses our main office, a parts and lubricants warehouse, and a
bulk propane storage tank. In 2005 we expanded our servicing area by purchasing DW Cash Fuel in
Greenville Junction, and opening our office in Greenville Junction to deliver fuel and service heating
equipment. In 2007 A.E. Robinson Oil Company purchased the RH Foster fuel oil facility in Greenville
beside Hammond Lumber.
We now have two office locations in Dover-Foxcroft and Greenville. Both locations have bulk plant facilities
and propane. In the summer of 2009 our Dover-Foxcroft Union Street bulk plant facility was rebuilt to be
in compliance with today's regulations. The larger storage helps A.E. Robinson Oil Company serve our customers
more extensively.
